AVR Stick

Atmel ATMEGA32U2 or AT90USB162 in USB stick size.

Introduction

The AVR Stick is a compact USB module in stick format with an AVR microcontroller from Atmel. The module can be plugged into an USB-A connector. The AVR Stick was especially designed for software based USB applications with less or none peripheral control requirements.
  • assembled with Atmel AVR microcontroller ATMEGA32U2 (also available with AT90USB162)
  • very compact and robust stick design (61,5 x 16,2 x 8,7mm³)
  • ESD protected USB-A male plug
  • 16MHz clock frequency
  • programmable via USB interface
  • additional in-system programming connector (compliant to Atmel 6 pin ISP standard)
  • selected ports available via solder pads
  • ESD protection in USB connection, industry quality
  • in favour of a compact design, a reset button and bootloader switch is omitted
  • a very simple first programming: plug and run "Atmel FLIP"

The module will be preferably programmed by the bootloader via USB interface. Nevertheless, it can be applied in any development system, such as Atmel AVR Studio, WinAVR and IAR Embedded Workbench® for Atmel AVR.

The microcontroller can be programmed in two ways:

  • By the USB interface with the present bootloader and the application program "Flip" from Atmel.
  • By the in-system programming connector on the board and a suitable programming device, such as Atmel AVRISP MKII (or compatible).

New: AVR Stick AR with Auto Reset feature!

A more simply handling at firmware updating. The bootloader will start now automatically, if the stick is plugged with set jumper. A manual reset is no longer necessary.
